SAP ABAP Developer _ Malaysia
Position Description: The SAP ABAP Developer will be responsible for the technical design, coding, enhancement and testing of custom SAP application objects to meet business process requirements.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• As part of a global AIG SAP Team, responsible for all aspects in SAP ABAP Development, SAP integration development, program design, prototyping and testing.
• Providing production and project support.
• Responsible for contributing to the SAP Development team, meeting target project and task commitments, development standards compliance, and management defined performance metrics.
• Documenting and assisting in defining the technical requirements/specification of the applications and support configuration changes to meet business process requirements.
• Designing and coding various complexity of developments and maintain applications to keep them performing in accordance with technical and functional specifications
• Executing and documenting performance tuning of code to ensure that an application or technical environment meets performance requirements.
• Responsible for rollout and operations of global SAP service requirements within the AIG IT organization.
• Active involvement with problem escalation and resolution, working with SAP AG and other software/hardware vendors to resolve problems
• Ensure that timely break-fix support is provided
• Implement structured problem-solving methods with team members to ensure root cause resolution of system or project issues
• Mentor and develop junior ABAP Developers
• Master Degree in computers, systems or equivalent is required
• SAP ABAP Certification preferred.
• 5+ years hands on ABAP development experience in SAP R/3 4.7 to ECC 6.0 required
• Minimum of 5 years hands on experience with production support maintenance
• Experience in IT project-related testing and documentation
• Qualified candidate must be self-starter capable of working independently, be detail oriented and able to perform in a fast paced environment. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, perseverance, and the creativity to overcome obstacles to achieve project objectives
• Must have extensive experience in areas such as conversions, interfaces, enhancement, dialog programming, function modules, User exits, SAP Report development, SAPScript/SMARTFORMS, LSMW and BDC programming
• Working Knowledge of SAP interfacing technologies (ALE/IDOCS, BAPIs, RFCs)
• Concentrated Focus on development related to SAP Modules FI/CO
• Must be able to gather customer end-user requirements for business processes
• Ability to follow development processes, standards and guidelines
• Involved in at least two end-to-end SAP implementations
• Post implementation support experience
• Must have strong Oral and Written communication skills
