Senior Software Engineer Fareham, Hampshire Up to £48,000 Plus Pension Scheme, Share Save Options, Permanent Health Insurance Our client is a leading international specialist engineering group. Located in Fareham, on the south coast of England, their customers include renowned aircraft and helicopter constructors, government departments of defence and systems integrators worldwide. An opportunity has now arisen for a Senior Software Engineer to join their team. In this senior level role you will be responsible for developing and implementing software solutions to meet programme requirements across the whole software development lifecycle. Some travel in the UK and to Europe or the US will be required. Day to day, as a Senior Software Engineer your duties will include: - compiling software plans, estimates, task lists and risk management plans - constructing and implementing embedded software - generating/performing and approving test plans, test case design and other specific tests - with the Engineering Manager, formulating the software strategy - providing effective technical support - including customer liaison To succeed in this position you must have significant experience in a Software Engineering position and a HND or ideally a degree (or equivalent) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Maths, Physics or an Engineering discipline. In addition to your proven experience of planning, tracking and controlling a software project, you must also have the following: - ability to generate/perform and approve test plans - proven experience of programming in C and/or ADA - ability to maintain, revise and enhance existing software, documentation and tests Additionally, as the Senior Software Engineer you should possess a structured approach to software development, the ability to communicate effectively with different levels of staff, and a positive, 'can do' attitude
