Responsibilities
• Provide best practice support services for the systems under Enterprise Support Services (ESS) management responsibility.
• Maintain, tune and patch systems for optimum performance and security.
• Ensure changes are planned and implemented in a sound low risk manner, without creating system outages.
• Provide implementation support for Enterprise Support Services (ESS) to approved projects, when appointed to a project.
• To prepare and maintain key team support documents.
• Provide on-call support and participate in 24 x 7 roster rotation groups.
• Assist Service Management and Application teams in solving intermittent recurring problems.
• Provide solutions architecture advise (where qualified / experienced to do so).
• Provide Technical Project Management (where experience and asked to do so).
• Provide support for costing solutions (hardware, software, and implementation labour), where experienced and / or being coached in doing so.
• Escalate problems and concerns to your Team Leader and / or senior management.
Skills
• 5+ years knowledge of WINDOWS system administration (W2K/W2K3)
• 2+ years experience of systems deployment, backup and recovery
• 2+ years work experience on MS Clustering
• In depth understanding of WINS, DNS and DHCP
• In depth understanding of all aspects of networking.
• Detail management of critical support environments
• Detail management of time critical projects
• Clear understanding of Enterprise security policies
• Sound background of midrange management tools
• Extensive experience of Financial application management
