2. Basic Job Purpose
2.1 Assist in the operations of purchasing department
2.2 Assist in the training of new purchasing staff
3. Duties and Responsibilities
3.1 Process the purchase orders by liasing with suppliers or principals
3.2 Review stock purchase by monitoring market conditions, current stock levels, lead time required for manufacturing, potential price increase, anticipation of new orders from customers, suppliers conditions
3.3 Ensure all purchase are approved within mandated guidelines
3.4 Avoid overstocking by working with product manager and warehouse manager on slow moving inventory
3.5 Track annual purchasing commitments to principals
3.6 Assist in the sourcing locally and overseas for new goods not supplied by regular principals/suppliers
3.7 Arrange air & sea freight and liaise with forwarders on services and costs
3.8 Manage the local and overseas purchase enquiries
3.9 Ensure insurance declaration is done for purchases
3.10 Process GRN (Goods Received Note) and arrange payment to suppliers
3.11 Cost the goods purchased by incorporating freight and ensure that all costs incurred in operating dept are kept within control
3.12 Organize the purchasing team to ensure even workload, coverage of duties and training
3.13 Review regularly processes to streamline, improve throughput and reduce paper work and rework
3.14 Ensure seamless integration with logistics/warehouse and customer service
3.15 Assist in the training of new purchasing staff in Singapore
4. Qualifications & Skills
4.1 Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management
4.2 Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing/ logistics environment
4.3 Detail-oriented, able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
5. Output
5.1 Ensure efficient operations in the purchasing department and reduction of purchasing risks through effective purchasing control
5.2 Ensure employees are well-trained in the purchasing operations
